My Reading Room
1 FINISH: HIGH-SHINE, “WET” YSL
Beaute Vinyl Cream, $50.

This liquid lipstick is kind of like Wonder Woman: indestructible. The formula weathered a hearty four-course meal that included champagne, soup and steak, with both colour and shine intact at the end of it.

2 FINISH: MATTE
Clinique Pop Matte Lip Colour + Primer, $35.

The sell here is that the lippie doubles as a primer. Which means that it delivers vibrant, lasting colour and comfort – none of the dryness associated with matte formulas. At the end of the day, our lips remained smooth and soft, with most of the colour intact.

3 FINISH: CREAMY
Shu Uemura Tint in Balm, $42.

It is available in 10 vibrant hues reportedly designed for Asian skin tones. Try Pink Vibe, a youthful (but not too girlie) rosy pink. If you favour lippies with a “melting” texture, you’ll like this one’s comforting balm formula and how hydrating it feels.
