The detection system quickly resets the watch’s hands after an impact or exposure to a magnetic field.

Fifty years ago, Longines’ technical expertise culminated in the launch of the Ultra-Quartz, the first mass-produced quartz wristwatch. Now, the Swiss luxury watchmaker revisits that success story with the new Conquest V.H.P (Very High Precision) – its first for women. Marking a return to the quartz technology, in which it was a pioneer and expert, Longines combines form and function with this elegant yet highly technical watch, which launched in September 2019.

Equipped with a movement renowned for its high degree of precision for an analog watch, the sporty-looking steel watch is able to reset its hands after an impact or exposure to a magnetic field.

And options are aplenty: It’s available in three sizes – 36, 41 and 43mm – so you get to decide if you prefer a regular or oversized look. The dial comes in plain silver, black or blue dial, or a white or black mother-of-pearl dial with diamond indexes for added femininity. Designed to suit the modern woman’s lifestyle, it features a stainless steel strap for everyday wear, or a rubber one for gym use. $2,150-$4,370 – DK
