SPRING FORWARD
Coach’s dinosaur motifs have been making such a mark on the scene that its star mascot, Rexy, has become a fashion personality in its own right. So it’s no wonder that guests at Coach’s exclusive shopping event took delight in the 6ft-tall rainbow-striped T-Rex installation in store at The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands. Co-hosted by Harper’s BAZAAR Singapore, guests were treated to a presentation of the magazine’s edit of Coach’s pre- spring 2017 collection—from full ensembles on parading models to accessories highlighted by “BAZAAR Loves” swing tags. Besides lots of shopping, guests also got to tuck into delicious bites from Mozza, strike animated poses at the GIF photo booth and get their purchases specially monogrammed on site.

IN THE COSMOS
“The Ritz Hotel is my home,” once declared Gabrielle Chanel, speaking of the legendary Paris hotel she lived in for 34 years. It was here that Chanel’s pre-fall 2017 Métiers d’art collection, Paris Cosmopolite, was shown, in a super-chic homage to the grand dame and “the cosmopolitan spot par excellence,” as Karl Lagerfeld calls it. Models in embroidered jackets, diaphanous skirts, and crowns of blooms swanned through the dining room with a fresh, fun elegance. Chanel ambassadors, 17-year-old Lily-Rose Depp and Pharrell Williams made their runway debut alongside Cara Delevingne—who opened and closed the show— and celebrity scions Sofia Richie, Kenya Kinski-Jones and Selah Marley. The Smiths (minus Will) were also present, with Willow performing with her guitar at the party the night before.

HOME COMING KING
If the crowd at the opening of Casa Loewe Madrid— the brand’s first Spanish flagship and largest in the world—was anything to go by, it’s that the brand has managed to slice through the fashion ranks to impress different factions with equal measure. Pretty young things comfortably shared the space with style influencers like Yasmin Sewell, Bryanboy and Candela, while models Mica Arganaraz and Marina Perez rubbed shoulders with members of Spanish society in the carefully curated three-storied 10,000sqft space. The celebratory atmosphere of the party was palpable, and it was a homecoming fit for the brand’s 170th anniversary.

ART AND ABOUT
Looking Back, Facing Forward—this was the theme of Harper’s BAZAAR’s showcase at the Affordable Art Fair 2016. Furnished with a modern-retro aesthetic by Born in Colour, our cosy corner at the fair served as a comfy lounge for visitors to view artworks by BAZAAR’s Art Prize finalists with bottles of our very own special edition HIC Juice, Haute Shot, in hand. Kicking off the art extravaganza in style was the Artylicious Friday evening fête, where guests got to enjoy a masterpiece in the making: Artist Candice Phang (aka Puffingmuffin) was on-hand to paint a fashion-meets-art piece inspired by the season’s runway looks. Lucky dips were also held throughout the weekend in celebration of BAZAAR’s 15th birthday, with many guests leaving the fair with BAZAAR swag in addition to their art acquisitions.
