"Clockwise from far left: Necklace, $245; necklace, $110; scarf top, $390; hat, $115; earrings, $125; swimsuit, $200; mule, $340, Bimba Y Lola"
Bimba Y Lola’s slogan for the season is #thisisHOT, and there’s a distinctly tropical vacation vibe pulsing through the collection: undulating waves, palm trees, colourful blooms and Hawaiian prints flourish on shirts, swimwear and scarves, drenched in a colour palette that evokes glowing sunset skies and aquamarine oceans. Water sports such as windsurfing and sailing provide inspiration, taking the form of sporty styles such as parkas, dresses incorporating cinch cords woven into the seams, and accessories crafted from cords and carabiners.
Tommy Hilfiger hits the high seas with a maritime theme: Stripes and boating knots are key motifs that appear throughout the collection on belts and shirts, coming together on a breezy pleated dress. Tropical florals are also thrown into the mix, adding a feminine touch to a pair of otherwise basic bermudas. A crisp palette of navy, red, yellow and white reinforces the nautical aesthetic.

For jet-set style that goes beyond boring black or grey wheelie luggage, look to TUMI’s new collection of travel companions. A painterly Blush Floral print is splashed across a range of luggage and accessories such as an expandable hard-shell case that will take you from weekend jaunts to extended trips, and a lightweight backpack with pockets to keep everything— tablet, water bottle, travel documents—neatly in place.

STYLE IN SPADES
City girls in search of the next big fashion adventure have plenty of brilliant options from Kate Spade New York’s spring collection. Bright pops of colour and fresh prints liven up the preppy-chic, utilitarian looks that the American label is known and loved for. A strong flora and fauna theme runs through the collection—think flowy dresses with supersized flower or leaf prints, boho-style crochet tops with floral motifs, and playful accessories such as elephant-shaped purses, earrings designed to look like beetles and colourful snakeskin heels.

Gucci’s fauna fervour under creative head Alessandro Michele remains unabated, with two of his signature animal icons adorning the latest collection of fashion watches and jewellery. The 40mm G-Timeless stainless steel automatic watch, for instance, features a feline head and bees as index markers, set against a black or white guilloché dial. Meanwhile, the lion, a symbol of courage and wisdom, takes on talismanic allure in the form of stud earrings and pendant necklaces worked in white gold or yellow gold, a coloured gemstone clasped in its jaws.
