Five months of hard work, multiple judging sessions and one night of fabulous festivities—the third Harper’s BAZAAR NewGen Fashion Award saw Fedri Mak taking home top honours as the Singapore winner. Mak and runner-up Ng May Ee were fêted with a stylish party at Scotts Square, where 200 special invitees got to view their collections up close. Editor-in- Chief Kenneth Goh took to the stage to crown Mak, who also went home with a prize cheque and a spot in the regional finals of the competition. He was then joined by special guest, Nicole Warne, aka @garypeppergirl, for a candid discussion on personal style and the secret to social media stardom—“stay authentic” was her key piece of advice. Throughout the night, society ladies were overheard requesting for pre-orders of the sartorial creations on show; fashion insiders could be heard clinking flutes of champagne till late; and Instagram girls were seen clicking away at their phones to hashtag #BAZAARClique—all of them making sure to stop to strike animated poses (complete with props) at the Cheese Effects photo booth before calling it a night.
