Stanley Kubrick may have envisioned a space odyssey but the year 2001 really gave us Beyoncé going solo and the birth of the game-changing iPod. It also gave us Moulin Rouge’s soundtrack hit “Lady Marmalade” (who didn't have that on repeat?), boy bands galore and pop divas. Fashion wise, the Noughties was all about midriff-baring tank tops and low-riding jeans (all the better to show off that thong, pfft!) Thankfully, this time round, on the sartorial road revisited, designers such as Chloé’s Clare Waight Keller are presenting leather pants (8) that no self-respecting rockstar could miss out on. Givenchy’s pouch (5) recalls the petite arm candies so favoured by celebrities back then (Hilton sisters included), plus there’s a healthy showing of stacked heels and platform boots (9) to complete the concert performance look to perfection. If the decade’s peasant boho blouses—hello, Sienna Miller—are more your cup of chai, look to Marni’s billowy top (2) and finish it off with a darling tiara-inspired ring from Chaumet (6) that will bring out the pop princess in anyone.
