Associate Digital Editor Sean Tan falls head over heels for spring’s audacious florals
Spring/summer 2020 showed us just how bold blossoms can get. Just take a look at Prabal Gurung, which presented a collection rich in mixed floral prints in dramatic shapes. Try out a positively romantic look replete with patterned blooms; you can start with a punchy dress by Alexander McQueen (#9), then layer on the bling: Add a dramatic necklace by Chopard (#3) and then mix it up with a statement ring by Atelier Swarovski (#13). A flirty finish with a pair of Aquazzura pumps (#7) with cute bows at the back of the ankles completes the look. Alternatively, go for separates such as a kimono-style blouse with fun feather trimmings by La DoubleJ (#5), matched with a vibrant skirt by MSGM (#4). When it comes to accessories, pick textured, maximalist pieces. A crazy Dolce&Gabbana pair of sunnies with vintage blooms printed on the lenses (#10) and a Givenchy scarf (#1) with an arty botanical print will do the trick. Top it off with a sequinned Gucci headpiece (#6) and a Louis Vuitton shoulder bag (#2), then slick on a NARS lip balm (#11) and spritz on Dior’s Miss Dior Rose N’Roses (#8), and you’ll positively bloom like a flower.
