This new Miu Miu arm candy strikes a note of pastel-hued positivity.
In line as always with the mood of the times, Miuccia Prada has simplicity on her mind this season. At Prada, this translates into a refined, tactile kind of minimalism. At Miu Miu, though, she filters the idea through the lens of naiveté, writ large in her use of hand-painted florals, giant ruffles and sweet pastels galore. There is also a sense of the homespun in the raw hems, humble fabrics, paint-splatter motifs and the way old knits are casually shrugged off the shoulders. Both ideas of playful innocence and seemingly homespun creativity are transplanted onto the accessories too—a squishy, supersized strap that has been irreverently knotted lends a new twist to the classic Miu Confidential. Glamorous, but not overly precious, it’s the perfect reminder that a little playtime goes a long way.
