As the eldest of three sisters, it’s no surprise that growing up, I could not get enough of the tales of sisters in written form: From Meg, Jo, Beth and Amy March in Little Women to the Wakefield twins of Sweet Valley High, I lapped up every word describing the rich, complex dynamics; whether you’re growing up during the American Civil War or in Singapore, the same issues have plagued sisters across continents, time and space. Like me, the fashion community can’t resist the allure of celebrity siblings. From reel to real life, we watched as the Olsens evolved from child actresses to business moguls. And, of course, there’s no leaving out the Kardashian-Jenner clan—say what you will about them, they clearly have each other’s backs (sorry, Rob). Here are more sisters who prove that talent and style really do run in the family.

DOMINO, JEMIMA AND LOLA KIRKE

Jemima might be the best known of the Kirke sisters, thanks to her role in HBO’s Girls, but her sisters are no less artistically inclined. The family reads like characters out of a Wes Anderson movie: Dad, Simon is a drummer; mum, Lorraine is an interior designer; elder sister Domino is a singer (she released her album, Beyond Waves, i n August) and doula, who also happens to be married to Gossip Girl’s Penn Badgley; and youngest sister Lola is an actress who has starred in Noah Baumbach’s Mistress America and Amazon’s Mozart in the Jungle, as well as appeared in campaigns for Calvin Klein. The sisters, who grew up in Brooklyn, New York, have mastered the art of luxe bohemia, opting for lace, flares and kimonos in their everyday and red carpet wardrobes.

ADWOA AND KESEWA ABOAH

There’s no escaping model of the moment Adwoa Aboah: She’s looking back at you from magazine covers, runways and campaigns; appearing in films such as Ghost in the Shell; empowering women with Gurls Talk, the online community she founded so girls can have a safe space to talk about issues like mental health; the list goes on. And while most fashion folk currently associate her with BFF Cara Delevingne, that’s about to change as her younger sister, Kesewa, follows in her footsteps. The half-Ghanaian, half-English pair walked Coach’s fall/winter 2017 show, and starred in fall/winter 2017 campaigns for Miu Miu and G-Star Raw. With Kesewa going on to front Miu Miu’s cruise 2018 campaign, rest assured we will be seeing a lot more of the Aboahs.

ESTE, DANIELLE AND ALANA HAIM
The STYLE When the Grammy-nominated Haim sisters released their debut album, Days are Gone, in 2013, they instantly caught the eye of the fashion cognoscenti with their enviably tousled tresses and ’70s California-inspired look. In 2017, alongside the release of their sophomore album, Something to Tell You, the sisters also hit the Paris Fashion Week circuit in style. Not only did they sit front row at the likes of Chanel and Valentino, they also went on to headline the Guggenheim International Gala pre-party, held in partnership with Dior—in custom Dior gowns, no less. Like any selfrespecting girl group, the sisters have a knack for picking coordinating threads without being too matchy, thanks to a fondness for different silhouettes. Eldest sister Este gravitates towards mini dresses, middle sister Danielle to suits and trousers, and youngest sis Alana to t-shirts and denim.

TAYLOR AND MACKINLEY HILL

Thanks to Bella and Gigi, the fashion world’s obsession with modelling sister acts is in overdrive. With a combined social media following in Thanks to Bella and Gigi, the fashion world’s obsession with modelling sister acts is in overdrive. With a combined social media following in the millions, a family YouTube channel featuring their other genetically blessed siblings, and elder sister Taylor leading the way with contracts and campaigns, the Hills are on track to claiming the title of being the next Hadids. At 21, Taylor has the distinction of being the youngest Victoria’s Secret Angel as well as being the face of Lancôme; Mackinley is a year younger and is signed to the same agency, IMG. The sisters have already been shot by none other than Karl Lagerfeld for his eponymous label’s fall/winter 2017 campaign—and where Karl goes, the rest of the fashion world follows.
