For spring/summer 2020, he combined both with a Hollywood-worthy reboot of the long-forgotten VHS tape—applying to it the precise, precious techniques that go into the crafting of the Petite Malle clutch he has made iconic under his tenure at Louis Vuitton. Emblazoned across the front of the Video Clutch are phrases such as “The Backpack is Back”—a nod to the sensational titles of B-movies from his favourite era. Add a strap stamped in the House’s monogram, and home movies have never looked more chic. Lights, camera, action: Bag to the future we go.
