“I’ve always thought of myself as a relatively low-maintenance guy. Beer, wings, and football are enough to make me happy. That said, my dream date would involve a little more than that. Our day would begin in Rome. There’s just something about it and I would love to experience it with that special someone. After our morning coffee, we’d take the metro to see the Colosseum, then head to the Sistine Chapel to admire Michelangelo’s famed ceiling, laughing and pretending to know a thing or two about art. Finally, we’d end the afternoon with gelato by the Trevi Fountain, doing the obligatory coin toss (I mean, when in Rome, right?) and vow to return. Dinner would be in the city of love, Paris. We’d sit in a dimly-lit restaurant, drinking our Bordeaux, talking about our day together. No iPhones, no social media, just two lovers enjoying each other’s company.”

“My ideal date would be at a quiet restaurant with a nice view, because I love food. Preferably, the meal shouldn’t be that filling because it’s more important to be able to share dessert. Getting to know her and having a good conversation would be paramount. I love a woman who’s a good conversationalist and funny. After dinner, we’d go somewhere romantic like a rooftop with a view or walk along the Singapore River. We’d then take a mandatory selfie with a nice background for memory – and to show my mum so she won’t nag me about finding a wife. In all seriousness though, if we’re able to just talk, have fun, and be spontaneous, then I’d probably fall for her. The best dates are the ones where we connect without really trying. When it gets late, I’ll end the night with a moonlit kiss, and set up the next date before sending her off. Once she’s home safely, I’d send her the selfie we took, but edited. I may give her a moustache.”

“When you say dream date, it usually brings to mind a romantic dinner, or a picnic at the park. But if you ask me, that’s pretty cliché. My ideal date would be to go trekking up a mountain, where we’d be basking in all of nature’s glory. Why? Simply because there aren’t any mountains in Singapore. What I’d also really like to do is bring my date on a tasting journey. Being a barista, I love to explore different flavours and tantalise the palate, so naturally, my dream date would be to go on a gastronomic journey. If she loves coffee, we’d go around sampling coffees from all over the world!”
