THE PROMISE: Comodex is a new range by Christina that combines potent active ingredients and cutting-edge technology to treat oily skin caused by damaging factors such as hormonal imbalance, stress and infections. The Soothe & Regulate Mask claims to renew such skin by balancing sebum secretion and excretion, while preventing comedones and calming irritation and redness.
PACKAGING: The 75ml tube has a traditional design with a matte finish. The tiny opening and screw cap keep the product from drying out and ensure it’s good for two years after opening. Instructions and expiry date are also clearly printed on the bottle.
WHAT’S IN IT: BSASM, which is antiinflammatory, antibacterial and antioxidative; seboreductyl, to regulate sebum production and reduce pores; and Tasman pepper extract for its soothing properties.
HOW TO USE: Apply onto the face but avoid the eye area. Leave on for 10 minutes, then use a wet compress to soften it, before wiping off with a warm wet cloth.
WHAT TO EXPECT: The calming mask gives a cooling and tingling sensation, but otherwise shouldn’t cause any discomfort. Right after use, the face appears brighter and matte yet without feeling dry. A few hours later the skin remains clear and shine-free.
BEST FOR: As the formula has been designed to moderate sebum secretion, control antimicrobial activity, repair scar tissue and reduce inflammation, those with oily and blemished skin will see the most improvement.
FINAL VERDICT: Inflammation and redness are, from my personal experience, very difficult to treat.
