Diners looking for a fusion of local and European cuisines should head to Portico Prime, which is located at Block 10, Dempsey Hill. Headed by award-winning executive chef Nixon Low, the 118-seater restaurant’s must-try dishes include the scrumptious Collection of Heirloom Tomatoes ($24) and the pan-seared Pulau Ubin barramundi ($38).

The former tantalises taste buds with slices of Jamon Serrano, marinated Hijiki seaweed and frozen honey melon dressing, while the latter has carrot ginger puree and a trout roe buerre blanc sauce. For dessert, try the warm chocolate fondant ($16), which consists of a chocolate cake made from 65 percent dark chocolate, speculoos crumbs, puff ed barley and butter beer ice cream.
