HORN OF PLENTY

If there is one thing born of the pandemic that we’d like to see continuing, it’s the outpouring of innovative take-home options from restaurants offering everything from food boxes containing a feast of gourmet goodies to DIY kits allowing you to experience a meal a la minute. Here are some of our favourites.

TREASURE CHEST

Known for its themed menus or “chapters”, Preludio has been offering some of its most popular dishes in The Preludio Box. The collection of DIY dishes, ready-to-eat pastries, condiments and fresh produce will have you whipping up a multi-course degustation like a proper chef.

01 The box comes with the option for an alcoholic drink curated by sommelier Chip Steel. Add on a bottle of wine or sake or even a beer sampler pack.

02 Early iterations of the box came with a pair of Steampunk style “time travel” goggles that fit in with the restaurant’s chapter on Time. Horn of plenty If there is one thing born of the pandemic that we’d like to see continuing, it’s the outpouring of innovative take-home options from restaurants offering everything from food boxes containing a feast of gourmet goodies to DIY kits allowing you to experience a meal a la minute. Here are some of our favourites.

03 Always included is the chef’s selection of fresh produce. Hardly vegetables you can just stroll into a supermarket to purchase, these can range from Piennolo DOP tomatoes from Italy to Jerusalem artichokes.

04 Something to munch on while you’re cooking: a selection of bread and snacks. Included are rye dinner rolls with a mushroom glaze and homemade onion butter and cookies.

05 Four different flavours of teas.

06 Preludio’s other signature of Iberico pork presa marinated for 24 hours, slow-roasted and sliced.

07 Charcuterie and cheeses.

BOUNTIFUL HARVEST

Now’s your chance to play with the same produce many of your favourite restaurants use. Classic Fine Food’s consumer-facing arm, Classic Deli, is offering a produce box filled with curated fruits and vegetables. It’s an opportunity to take the pressure off from grocery shopping and explore new ingredients in the kitchen. Each box comes with 3kg each of fruits and vegetables such as Spanish sucrine lettuce, fresh peas and fava beans still in their pods. The mix changes every week to keep things interesting.
