The role of a grain whisky is to heighten the personalities of malt whiskies and help deliver smoothness – a filler, if you will – but Suntory is now among the few distilleries to give it time in the spotlight. Named after Suntory’s grain distillery, The Chita blends five types of base grain whiskies to create a mild spirit with a clean finish. Its nose of creme brulee and flavours of honey and mint make it a solid sipping whisky, but use it in a highball for a dangerously refreshing beverage.
