Eat this fountain of youth

The more fibre you consume, the fitter you are. In a recent study from the University of Sydney, people who ate the most fibre daily (37g on average) were 79 per cent more likely to remain healthy as they aged compared with those who ate the least (18g). Fibre keeps blood sugar steady, blunting the swings that can trigger damaging inflammation. Load up on fibre-rich foods like raspberries (8g of fibre per cup), bran flakes (6g per ¾ cup) and artichokes (7g per medium choke).
