Besides its convivial ambience, this American diner makes it to our list thanks to its Kids Eat For Free promotion which runs on weekends and public holidays. There’s obviously fine print* – the promo applies to children under the age of eight, or under 120cm in height, and is only for items on the kids’ menu – but all in all, we say it’s a sweet deal.

W. E . C AFE
✔ HIGH CHAIRS
The 1,000 sq ft cafe is a cosy spot to recharge after a day of shopping. Treat your kids to the cafe’s popular waffles, which account for around 35 per cent of its sales. Try the Waffle with Honey Butter Sauce ($6.90), or pair your waffle with a scoop of homemade gelato ($11.90), which comes in cool flavours like coconut, cheese, and pineapple.

✔ KIDS’ MENU ✔ ALL-DAY BREAKFAST MENU
✔ HIGH CHAIRS
The restaurant’s all-day breakfast menu will entice even the pickiest eaters. Reward Junior with the Olivia Sticky Date Pancakes ($12) – a stack of four pancakes topped with caramel and peanut butter sauce – and treat ravenous tweens to the hearty Full English Breakfast ($25). We’ve also noticed families taking wefies with the quirky model scooter at the lounge area!

MARCHÉ MÖVENPICK
✔ KIDS’ MENU ✔ HIGH CHAIRS ✔ PLAY AREA
✔ KIDS’ BIRTHDAY PACKAGES
It’s renowned for its röstis and pizzas, but we think kids will be most thrilled by Marché Mövenpick’s double-storey playground with wooden playhouses and a mini suspension bridge. Parents will love the restaurant’s thoughtful extras, such as a microwave to heat up baby’s milk, and high chairs with wheels (similar to strollers), letting you wheel Junior around while you place orders at the live cooking stations.

SHABU SAI

✔ KIDS’ DINING DEALS
This is a great option for budget-conscious families. Children under the age of three eat for free at this shabu-shabu and sukiyaki buffet joint, while those below nine can enjoy the buffet spread for just $9.99++. The best part? The price for kids doesn’t change whether you’re having lunch or dinner, or dining in on weekdays or weekends. Plus, what says family bonding more than hotpot-style dining?
