If we had our way, we’d whisk our date off to Santorini, with the salty breeze from the Aegean Sea tousling our hair. For a cheaper way to get a taste of Greece, check out ALATI. It means salt in ancient Greek, and everything served here is either flown-in from Greece or made in-house using traditional methods. Think fresh whole fish grilled with lemon and olive oil, or salt baked to perfection. Other dishes include the Shrimp Saganaki, whole tiger prawns in a tomato and feta stew; and Trikalinos Bottarga, caviar from the cured roe of grey mullet. Don’t forget to pair the meal with something off the drinks list, which is carefully curated to include a wide selection of – what else – Greek wines.

We’ve all had our fair share of fusion cuisine, but it’s always nice when a chef can still come up with something new. At this new restaurant at JW Marriott Singapore South Beach, you can enjoy modern Japanese cuisine with Korean accents that mixes delicate flavours with hearty touches. A must-try on the menu is the Tuna Pizza, $25, which includes thinly-sliced tuna with an umami aioli and a sprinkle of truffle oil on a crispy crust. The menu is great for sharing, with highlights like Atlantic Black Cod, $30, and AB Tacos with wagyu beef or spicy tuna, $25 and $20, respectively.
