My Reading Room

What ignited your interest in coffee?

I’ve only been making coffee for three years, but really fell in love with it when I first opened Curbside Cafe & Wine Bar. I remember being intrigued by the fact that the tiniest nuances could make a world of difference to the aroma, taste and texture of a cup of coffee. Since then, I’ve just been into anything coffee, from espressos to cold brews. It’s become a full-on lifestyle for me.

What inspired you to open your own cafe?

Knowing that I’ll get to meet people from different walks of life. I’ve been in the food and beverage industry for about a decade now, and love many things about it. But what I appreciate most is the people. Whether it’s my colleagues or customers, there’s always this undeniable fondness for the human element of the job. I learn so much from each and every one of them.

What are some of the events you’ve been involved in and what are your future plans?

My cafe has been involved in a few art markets, corporate events and weddings, and we’ve done everything from hot and cold coffee to baked goods and even espresso-infused foods. This year, besides rebranding our bottled cold brew coffees and teas, we’re also stoked to be returning to the Singapore Coffee Festival that’s taking place this month!
