Catalunya Singapore

If you’re on the hunt for a new place to party, you’re in luck – Catalunya Singapore has launched a club night series called The Alibi at their picturesque pavilion by the Singapore River. Held every Friday and Saturday, and on the eve of public holidays, The Alibi features top international DJs and Catalunya Singapore’s renowned tapas and cocktails. Start your night with a Bloody Rosemary, $26, which features a base of green pepper- and basil-infused vodka, or go for something stronger like the delicious Banana Rum Fashioned, $24. While you’re at it, grab a plate of The Bikini, $20, to share with your girl squad. These ham, cheese and truffle sandwiches bring to mind toasties, but with a gourmet twist, thanks to the fragrant layer of truffle oil.

Catalunya Singapore is at 82 Collyer Quay, The Fullerton Pavilion. Tel: 6534 0886

Black Nut

With its vintage decor and spiffy crowd, Black Nut is the place to be if you count yourself among the cool kids. Up your streed cred with Sio Ah!, $18. This cocktail is infused with chilli padi and lemongrass, bringing to mind a bowl of Tom Yum soup with an alcoholic twist. Got a sweet tooth? Go for the white rum-based Power Chendol, $18. Made with pandan leaf and gula melaka, it tastes like an adult version of the dessert. And if you’re feeling peckish, the gastropub also serves Asian-inspired bar bites like Soy Lickin Good. The ginger-honey-soya glazed wings are super yummy and go for just $12 for four wings.

Black Nut is at 2 Emerald Hill Road. Tel: 6738 8818

Oriole Coffee + Bar

Who says a good cup of joe is reserved for mornings? By combining espresso with various liquors, Oriole Coffee + Bar’s intricately crafted coffee cocktails, $16 each, provide a caffeine-induced buzz at any time of the day. We recommend the Oriole Martini, which combines espresso, rum, bourbon and spiced syrup. It tastes like a cup of spiked black coffee with a dash of sweetness. Say what you want – we think it’s the perfect way to beat a midday slump.

Oriole Coffee + Bar is at #01-01, 96 Somerset Road. Tel: 6238 8348
