Meaning ‘to know’ in Sanskrit, Veda is the latest all-day dining addition to Ovolo Central, one of the city’s only vegetarian hotel restaurants situated in the heart of the action.

Interiors are awash with natural light with splashes of greenery and quirky design touches. The breakfast menu features freshly pressed juices, avocado toast with a choice of 20 toppings, overnight oats, yoghurt bowls and more.

Dishes are created by renowned vegetarian chef Hetty McKinnon of Arthur Street Kitchen. Many are designed to share, such as the moreish Nepalese ricotta and spinach momos with smoked chilli and tomato achaar, and an intensely flavoured Indian pani puri. The baked aloo gobi cauliflower is another firm favourite.

Desserts like the signature fig cheesecake with caramel sauce, and dark sponge cake and passion fruit mousse are worth saving room for. Tipple options are plentiful, with cocktails and a range of Australian wines.

A recent addition is the High Chai vegetarian afternoon tea, a two-tiered tower filled with savoury and sweet bites like shiitake mushroom tarts, gluten-free Brazilian cheese bread and Earl Grey compote, complemented with an array of Pukka Teas.
