You might have seen some folks walking with sticks on both sides. Those aren’t walking aids but poles used for Nordic walking. According to experts, this activity torches up to 50 per cent more calories than regular walking. You have to strap the poles around your wrists and move them in sync with your natural stride. Sounds easy, but it’s a total-body workout that will strengthen your arms, shoulders and back. It also reduces stress on joints and improves balance when hiking on uneven terrain.
