When exercisers started a six-week plan of either high-intensity interval training or moderate cardio, the HIIT group liked their workouts more and more each week – no matter how difficult things got. The others, however, found their workouts less and less enjoyable as they went along. “More intense exercise can help you feel a sense of achievement when you’re done and may help motivate you to stick with it,” says lead study author Jennifer Heisz.
