WHERE THE GRASS IS ALWAYS GREEN

Nature thrives forever at French jeweller Van Cleef & Arpels

Portrait of Tammy Strobel

A bad example of nature being an everlasting source of inspiration: Instagram. A much better one: the French maison of Van Cleef & Arpels that’s been turning to flora and fauna to dream up its pretty, playful jewellery pieces since its early days in 1906. Case in point: its four-petalled Cosmos line that references an archival bloom motif from the ’50s; its 2001 Lotus range – one of the few in luxury jewellery that’s dedicated to the sacred bloom – and its Frivole collection, launched 17 years ago and recently updated with eight new creations that feature an even more exuberant take on its signature bouquet-style design.
