In the Living Room or Master Bedroom

“Use pink in the details, such as the curtains, lampshade or cushions,” says arjan nijen Twilhaar, principal designer, at aiden.T. Balance the look with complementary colours like jade green, teal or sky blue.

In the Kids’ Room

If you are designing a girl’s room, arjan suggests using different hues of pink so it stays timeless. he says, “Paint the walls in a soft petal pink or blush pink and keep one or two walls neutral.”

On the Furniture

If you are planning carpentry, stick to a neutral colour for the surface areas and add neon or flamingo pink in the detailing, like on door knobs or handles, suggests arjan.

On the Walls

Use a textured wall like a venetian plaster for added interest, advises arjan. Keep the shade close to neutral as a bold tone will overwhelm the space. mix in “cool” colours within the same family, such as ivory, white and jade green.

What’s Cool Now

One of the newest fridge models in town boasts the flexibility to turn the freezer into a mini fridge or chiller. Here’s how it works.

Independent Worker

With a conventional solo cooling system, there’s often a lingering odour in the refrigerator, especially with durians and kimchi, until now. This Samsung fridge has two sets of evaporators and fans to cool the fridge so the odour doesn’t permeate into the other compartment.

Chiller Or Freezer

If entertaining at home is a norm for you, this Samsung fridge is up to the job. Its Twin Cooling Plus technology allows you to turn the freezer into a chiller with the touch of a button to give you extra space for drinks and desserts.

Five Modes

Having two independent cooling systems means you can opt to turn off the freezer, or refrigerator to save electricity when you’re overseas. If space is not the issue, the freezer compartment can be converted into a mini fridge, and the bottom fridge turned off, which cuts energy usage.
