In a soft market, it does not hurt to remind consumers about the qualities that make you stand out – even when you are the world’s most popular high-end watch brand. That’s why the new Rolex boutique at Marina Square offers a lot more than just a retail space. Opened in partnership with luxury retailer Cortina Watch, the 513 sq m store stands out with its elaborate, three- part permanent exhibition. It includes a showcase of Rolex innovations such as the Cerachrom ceramic bezel and the energy-efficient Chronergy escapement; a multi-screen video wall playing footage depicting the brand’s partnerships in fields like the arts and sports; and displays dedicated to Rolex’s deep-sea explorations. We like the way the store is loosely segmented into spaces – the video wall, for example, is located in the lounge area, along with a bar with a bronze mirror finish. This creates cosy pockets of space in which to browse the boutique’s comprehensive offerings across the Oyster and Cellini families. As Jeremy Lim, COO of Cortina Watch, says: “The opening of the Rolex Exhibition marks another evolution in Singapore’s luxury watch retail landscape. We believe that it will draw customers closer to the spirit of Rolex.”
