We’d call Optic Butler the ultimate one-stop shop for sunglasses and opticals, and here’s why: It carries the coolest eyewear labels such as Linda Farrow and Oliver Peoples, as well as the latest shades from your favourite designer labels, including Victoria Beckham, Tom Ford, Gucci, Dior, Miu Miu, Prada, Bulgari and Tiff any & Co.

On the evening of May 4, 40 Her World readers not only shopped and browsed these collections, but also enjoyed a workshop with tips from the experts – luxury brand manager of Luxottica South-east Asia Maud Zeller spoke on how to pick the right shades, while Anna Sui beauty trainer Melissa Cheok shared what makeup goes best with your eyewear. Guests also enjoyed an exclusive 30 per cent discount on eyewear, and received door gifts worth $200 each. Optic Butler is at #03-49 Paragon (tel: 6734-2117).

Maud Zeller, luxury brand manager at Luxottica South-east Asia, on how to pick the best eyewear for your facial features:

My Reading Room

● Look at the lower half of your face (from the cheeks to the chin) and ask yourself if your face is more oval or angular. To flatter your face, you should choose eyewear that contrasts with your face shape. If you have an oval face, go for more angular frames. If you have an angular face, go for more rounded frames such as aviators.

● When you’re getting shades, be sure to choose a pair that doesn’t hide your eyebrows.

● If you want to hide dark eye rings, pick shades with thicker rims rather than semi-rimless styles.
