I’ve been dating this guy for about a year, and he’s all about we time. He wants to hang out every day, but I really need my space. I don’t want to hurt his feelings, so I go along with it. How can I talk to him without this becoming a huge fight?
You could act like an adult, and tell him politely that while you love spending time with him, you also need time to yourself. Or you could act like a complete maniac, and become the clingy, needy girlfriend that no guy wants. Pretty soon he’ll be begging to have some time to himself. Just make sure you don’t push it too far and make him break up with you.
My boyfriend and I split the rent fifty-fifty every month. But he earns more than I do, and unlike me, comes from a well-to-do family – which means he doesn’t have to put any cash towards supporting them. Is it unreasonable to ask him to shoulder more rent?
Supporting your family is an admirable thing, and it’s not unreasonable to ask your boyfriend to take care of more of the rent so you can do that. Most guys, even if they’re cheap, have the innate urge to take care of their women. Or don’t rock the boat, keep paying fifty-fifty, and when you become his wife, you’ll become part of a well-to-do family and be better placed to take care of yours. Many options, girlfriend.

Your friend’s boyfriend is probably chatting on these apps out of curiosity – it’s hard not to talk to girls who want to talk to you. It’s an ego thing. It could be completely innocent, or he could be a serial cheater. Your friend’s got to take it into her own hands to find out.
