Created in honour of Christian Dior’s younger sister, Catherine, the Miss Dior scent has a distinct chypre character, and has undergone several modern reinterpretations since it was introduced in 1947. This year sees an update by Dior’s Perfumer-Creator, François Demachy, to coincide with the scent’s—and the House’s—70th anniversary. Paying homage to love, Demachy stayed true to the Miss Dior spirit as he “sculpted its floral facets, emphasising the power of its roses in order to make it sensual and suggestive”. To give it a modern and exuberant touch, he also eliminated dark, earthy accents. The result? A spirited floral eau composed of sparkling notes of juicy citrus fruits, sensual roses from Grasse and Turkey, and a jolt of sass, thanks to pink peppercorn and rosewood.
