Hermès has always been a house that takes delight in producing watches that put a playful twist on time-telling. Its Slim d’Hermès L’heure Impatiente is no different. The watch features an alarm, which in itself is not a novel function. The twist here is that it also features a 60-minute countdown function that kicks in an hour to the alarm’s set time, before chiming a crystal clear note at the end of the hour. It’s from this function that the watch gets its name (the impatient hour in English). And with that, Hermès has set the scene for an hour-long drama of anticipation and suspense.
