The ruins of Palatine Hill were turned into a backdrop for a fashion extravaganza when Fendi staged one of its most magnificent shows right in the middle of the famous seven hills within the city Rome. Silvia Fendi presented the haute couture fall/winter 2019 collection inside the marvellous Temple of Venus to a crowd of celebrities, editors, influencers and customers.

There were 54 looks to honour the memory of the late Karl Lagerfeld who had worked with the House of Fendi for exactly that number of years. With mink jumpsuits and bikinis under slim-line fur coats, the clothes beautifully interpreted the classical aesthetics of the surroundings, with fur taking on the crystalline veining of marble, chiffon in hues of terracotta and silks and satins referencing ancient mosaics and classical stonework. This was followed by an exclusive dinner enjoyed with a full 360-degree view of the Eternal City.
