Her gamine looks and effortlessly chic wardrobe have made her a regular on best-dressed lists here, but it’s what this 30-year-old does for a living that truly deserves recognition. For the past eight years, she’s been a healthcare professional with the Community Health Assessment Team at the Institute of Mental Health. What she does on a daily basis: counsel those (a la Oprah) between the ages of 16 and 30 to help them deal with issues such as depression, anxiety and psychosis.

Shearling jacket, cotton T-shirt with sequins, cotton midi skirt, Kisslock leather cross-body bag, and leather and shearling high-top sneakers.

“Society often labels those with mental health issues as ‘crazy’ or ‘seeking attention’. But we need to understand that human beings experience diverse extremes of emotions, and some may need more resources and help to overcome these challenges. If everyone can embrace that such vulnerabilities exist, then more people would be willing to seek help and the phenomena of mental health issues would not be stigmatised.”
