Fans of Chanel in the region now have even more reason to queue up. From June 23 to July 19, the French luxury giant is hosting the second leg of its “Mademoiselle Prive” exhibition at Seoul’s D Museum. (The first was held in London’s Saatchi Gallery two years ago.) While details were unavailable at press time, the event – meant to spotlight the brand’s icons and house codes through history – will include a section on Chanel No. 5 (yep, the fragrance), re-editions of the 1932 High Jewellery “Bijoux de Diamants” collection, as well as haute couture reinvented by Karl Lagerfeld. Closer to home, the brand has launched its first “ephemeral boutique” here at The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands (#B1-142). Standing in for its permanent store that’s under renovation till November, the equally mega concept (it’s 3,000 sq ft) will not only carry the full range of merchandise, but also boast a rotating special showcase highlighting the latest collection at that point in time.
