Festival singapore 2017.
Festival singapore 2017.
What: The seventh edition of the Melbourne music festival import that features a list of the coolest international acts in indie music today.
Why: Large open air parties are still the place to be seen at (see Coachella and Afropunk), and this seven-city touring festival will be the most lit event in Singapore – it’s the first stop – for all music lovers (and hipsters, the fashionable set, and scenesters). Don’t doubt: 2016’s event sold out with some 13,000 people in attendance. Like Female (we’re an official media partner by the way), it always features the next big acts to know – Clams Casino (hip-hop pal to fashion fiend A$AP Rocky) and Norwegian-electropop It girl Aurora are our top picks among the 20-plus act line-up. The region’s well represented too. Flying the local flag are three-piece psychedelic band T-Rex, R&B influenced singersongwriter Sam Rui, and shoegazing bigwigs Astreal, while Japanese acts make the roster for the first time. But it’s not just about sating music tastes. There’s sure to be much sartorial peacocking – expect the likes of Vetements-style rock tees, oversized hoodies, and denim in every tattered state.
