It’s time to show more love to our fellow Asians; here are some of our favourite designers from the region to check out.

Ask anyone to name the fashion capitals of the world and they’ll probably mention London, New York, Paris or Milan. But with their burgeoning economies, Southeast Asian countries are becoming major players in the fashion scene. The following labels from around the region are just a snapshot of what to look out for on your next trip to one of these countries. They’re on the verge of something great.

Yes, she’s Malaysian, but the Singapore-based designer is so amazing that we’ll claim her as our own. Her pieces should be no stranger to those in the fashion know, but if you still need an introduction, think multi-ethnic pieces that are well-blended and well-presented so they don’t fall into the trap of national costume kitsch.
