THE SYDNEY INTERNATIONAL BOAT SHOW will return to Darling Harbour from August 3-7 when the 50th edition of the southern hemisphere’s largest recreational marine event is held at the new International Convention Centre – Sydney (ICC Sydney).

In recent years, the show has been held at the Sydney Exhibition Centre on Glebe Island, an interim facility used during the construction of ICC Sydney, which opened in December 2016.

The show will occupy the entire 32,600sqm of exhibition space – including an elevated 5,000sqm open-air event deck – at ICC Sydney, which was built on the site of the former Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre, which opened in 1988 and was closed in 2013 to undergo demolition as part of Darling Harbour’s revitalisation.

The Sydney Boat Show will also feature yachts at Cockle Bay Marina, where the marina displays will be expanded.

In another new development, the Australia International Dive Expo (AIDE) will join the show for the first time.

Domenic Genua of the Boating Industry Association said: We are excited to incorporate this new element into the show. The demand for a diving expo has been growing for years. We look forward to growing the expo as a part of the Sydney International Boat Show.”

The Sydney International Boat Show was first held in 1968 and has since played host to over 3 million visitors.
