HEESEN’S 50M PROJECT Maia (YN 18350) has entered its outfitting period in the shipyard in Oss, Netherlands. The steel-hulled, full-displacement motoryacht (below 500 GT) will be available for delivery in 2018 after sea trials in the North Sea.

Heesen’s in-house team has been responsible for the project’s naval architecture and engineering. Clifford Denn worked on the exterior design while Reymond Langton – who created the award-winning interior of Ann G – is responsible for the interiors.

Maia offers 250sqm of outdoor space on three decks, including a 16m-long sun deck. She can accommodate 10 guests in a master suite forward on the main deck and four guest suites – three double and one twin on the lower deck – while five crew cabins provide accommodation for 10.

Maia’s tenders are carried on the fore deck, where they can be quickly deployed, and allow for a luxurious beach club complete with a bar, sauna and solid sound system.

Powered by two MTU 1,000kW engines, Maia will reach a top speed of 15 knots and have a range of 3,800nm at a cruising speed of 12 knots. Fuel consumption will be 95l/h at 10 knots and 390 l/h at 15 knots.
