MONTE CARLO YACHTS (MCY) returned to the city of Trieste, the heart of the Friuli Venezia Giulia region as well as the home of the MCY facilities, to present the latest addition to its collection – the MCY 80.
MONTE CARLO YACHTS (MCY) returned to the city of Trieste, the heart of the Friuli Venezia Giulia region as well as the home of the MCY facilities, to present the latest addition to its collection – the MCY 80. The city was chosen for the launch of award-winning model MCY 70 four years ago.
The new 24m MCY 80 takes its place on the podium as the third largest yacht in the collection and delivers pure cruising pleasure. With smooth exterior lines and shaped bulwarks which enhance the level of light and space across the main deck, the MCY 80 boasts a curvy, modern look without being too sharp or minimalistic. Signature elements include a class-leading entertainment foredeck and a Portuguese bridge.
“Those who were with us for the launch of the MCY 70 in 2012 will discover how over these few years, we have grown while keeping true to our dream and our vision,” says MCY President Carla Demaria. “We have invested a significant amount of resources, to support our growth and create the conditions to keep on growing in the future. The MCY 80 is the latest step in our path of evolution, one we’re very proud of, as we’re proud to present it right here at home in Trieste.”
The MCY 80 was presented to the press and Monte Carlo Yachts’ guests at a private event. A special art exhibition on the world history of naval production processes and their developments was on display in the evening. The exhibition was meant to honour the innovations and technical developments of mankind, which made it possible for the MCY 80 to exist.
“To reach its fullest expression, design cannot be caged and stifled, but at the same time it needs to express a brand’s global strategy and essence so that it isn’t just an end in itself but a lasting value,” comment MCY range Designers Carlo Nuvolari and Dan Lenard. “The MCY 80 is a great yacht, agile, sleek and elegant, but it is also solid and safe like a boat should be and it fully represents the values and goals set by Monte Carlo Yachts.”
After the gala dinner, the new MCY 80 made its official reveal during a night show performance, which amazed the hand-picked selection of guests present at the exclusive event.
Following this preview, the model will be presented at the Cannes Yachting Festival Sept 6-11.
