THIS YEAR’S MONACO YACHT SHOW at Port Hercules from September 27-30 will feature a huge number of world premieres, a new-look exhibition layout and ongoing initiatives to attract potential superyacht buyers.

Four months before the show’s 27th edition, 40 superyachts delivered this year had been registered and were confirmed to make their show debuts among the 125 vessels on the water, while 87 percent of exhibiting companies had renewed their participation.

The new-look layout includes a return to the redeveloped Darse Nord zone after three years of construction work. The zone will feature a new 1,800sqm exhibition tent on Quai Albert 1er.

On Quai Antoine 1er, the zone’s reconfiguration will create a new epicentre including the HISWA pavilion for Dutch exhibitors and a new Starboard exhibition area devoted to the superyachting lifestyle. Other facilities include a cafe-restaurant with a terrace, a lounge, complimentary meeting rooms for exhibitors and the media centre.

Quai Antoine 1er will also be the location of the Car Deck – a presentation, launched in 2016, of 15 or so luxury vehicles with some models available for test drives – and the new Tenders & Toys Show.

On September 26, the second Monaco Yacht Summit will feature workshop discussions for a delegation of invitation-only visitors interested in purchasing or managing a superyacht. In the evening, 400 guests – top managers of yachting companies and private clients – will attend the opening ceremony, which will incorporate the fourth MYS Awards ceremony.

The events are part of the Sapphire Experience programme launched in 2014, offering a concierge service for the show’s premium clients in coordination with the exhibiting brokers and shipyards.
