RAY ROBERTS’ TP52 Team Hollywood (AUS) won seven from eight races to dominate the IRC I class at the 14th Cape Panwa Hotel Phuket Raceweek.
Among the 40-footers, East Marine Emagine (AUS) fought off the rest to secure second overall while Loco (SIN) had a late charge to finish third overall.
In IRC II, Phoenix (JPN) claimed victory with six wins from eight races. Sailescapes Farrgo Ladies (AUS), featuring an all-female crew, overpowered the rest of the class to claim second overall, ahead of fellow Farr 1104, Krabi Boat Lagoon Piccolo (GBR), who finished third.
A final-race win for Lady Bubbly (AUS) saw them wrap up the Cruising class title, although they didn’t have it all their way, with all five boats in the class on the podium during the four days.
Beaux Esprits (AUS) put in a grandstand finish, claiming second overall, helped by Kantus Bride’s (THA) second-place finish in the final race, which pushed down Who Dares Wins (GBR) to fourth in the race and third overall.
The Raceweek featured its largest-ever multihull contingent, with 24 entries in four classes. In Multihull Racing, Asia Catamarans Hurricane (AUS) won the final race of the series and defended their title with a five-point cushion.
Thor (GBR) sealed second place without racing on the final day. Although the Russian crew on Galeforce finished second in the final race, it wasn’t enough to overcome Phantom V (AUS) whose third place in the final race was enough for third overall.
A win in the final race secured DaVinci (AUS) the Multihull Cruising series win ahead of Mojo (AUS) in second and Siesta (AUS) in third.
Twin Sharks (GBR) had seven wins and a DNS in the final race to claim the Firefly 850 class title – their fifth in a row. The Japanese crew on Mil Grace secured a first win on the final day, which helped them secure third place overall while Blue Noze (GBR) slotted into second.
In the Pulse 600 class, first places for Java Racing (GBR) put them in a strong position at the top going into the final day, but they almost threw away the title with a fourth-place finish, holding on to win the series title by a single point. Multihull Solutions H30 (AUS) pushed them all the way and had to settle for second ahead of SuDu Red (AUS) in third.
