Expert Tip “The key to maintaining voluminous hair throughout the day is to cut back on styling products. Excessive styling products will react with humidity to weigh down hair. Instead, invest in a good shampoo that balances scalp sebum and conditions tresses, and skip pre-styling products. Simply dry hair with an ionic hairdryer for more shine and volume, create your desired curls with a curling tong, and set the style with a fixing spray,” explains Hector Zhuo, creative director of kim robinson.

Mermaid Waves

Wavy hair adds a feminine touch to your look. “It creates movement and volume for fine and medium hair types,” says Eddie Chong, style director of TONI&GUY Novena. For a modern update, keep your hair above shoulderlength and add some highlights to enhance your waves, he adds.

Expert Tip “Use a lightweight mousse to ensure that waves hold out against tropical humidity. For an evening look, you may also want to try backcombing hair close to the root to create more volume. The “little black dress” of hairstyles, straight hair is chic, fuss-free and versatile. “Best for thick and luscious Asian hair types, this style will take you seamlessly from the office to a cocktail party,” says Anita Wong, creative director of PHS Hairscience. “For a fun night out, tousle tresses with a little wax and pair it with smokey eyes,” she suggests.
