These are tough times we live in, which is why footwear brand Aldo’s new Fall 2017 campaign wants to spread the message about love, inclusion and individuality.

Instead of doing the usual yawn product images, the folks at Aldo decided to rally the global digital community. The result: AldoCrew, a diverse group of social infiuencers who have real stories to tell, and who can inspire the rest of us to live life boldly. Names include actress Imogen Waterhouse, DJ Chelsea Dleah, model-singer-actress All i Simpson, as well as models Irina Sharipova and Jay Alvarrez (he has a whopping 5.3m followers on Instagram – beat that).

These popular personalities share what their idea of “I ❤…” is in the brand’s fun and witty ad campaign.

Each “I ❤…” is personal and relatable, ranging from “I ❤ living it up” (us, too!) to “I ❤ setting the scene”. The purpose of this campaign, shot by fashion photographer Frederike Helwig and directed by renowned creative director Donald Schneider, is to create a collective dialogue in a fun, playful way that goes beyond the world of fashion.

“Given our global reach, we wanted our campaign to be inviting and inspiring to the people who shop in our stores, through the app or online.

It’s fundamental to create individual experiences,” explains Daianara Grullon Amalfitano, the brand’s senior vice-president. You can soon shop at the Aldo Singapore’s online store, launching before the end of 2017.

Of course, there’s something you can actually wear too, and the Aldo Mx collection marks the first time that the brand is launching a unisex sneaker (the tagline: “I ❤... remixing”). Yes, you read that right – the same athletic style is available in sizes for both men and women ($139 each).

And we can see why everyone would want to step into these sneakers.

They have lightweight soles (because you don’t really want blisters or tired feet to get in the way of living your life, do you?) and come in five stylish colours to choose from, ranging from versatile black to a darling mint pistachio and a cute pink. Lit.
