Which of your products can we use to beat Singapore’s heat and humidity?
“I’d recommend Doo.over ($40), a multi-tasker that’s a dry shampoo-and-hairspray hybrid. It gives texture, provides light hold, and removes excess oil. For on-the-go volume, Powder.puff($40) is a volumising powder that can’t be beat. This setting lotion encapsulated in spheres of powder ‘melts’ as you rub it in. It’s perfect for balmy weather as it refreshes your hairstyle and cools a hot scalp. The best part? It’s water-repellent, so you’re essentially humidity-proofing your hair.”

Any new products in the pipeline?
“Full.again ($40), a thickening lotion you apply before styling. It coats fine hair, creating more surface area so your mane appears thicker. Especially good if you’re growing your hair out and it’s starting to look thinner at the ends.”

What’s one thing you wish people did less of?
“Over-washing! It causes your scalp to produce more oil, making it even greasier. It’s a vicious circle. If you really have to wash often, use a cleansing conditioning treatment like Re.store ($30), a shampoo-conditioner hybrid that cleans and strengthens damaged hair.”

Strand saviour
Why  use John Frieda’s latest pre-shampoo treatment? Ken Hong, salon director of Evolve Salon, and part of the John Frieda House of Experts (Singapore), lists the benefits.

NO MORE FRIZZ
“The lightweight product is designed to sit on top of hair strands like a soft cloud, acting as a barrier against humidity and preventing friction during brushing.”

HAIR BECOMES EASIER TO STYLE
“You’ll notice that your hair is more manageable and holds a style better after just one use.”

IT’S A FUSS-FREE PROCESS
“The frizz-free eff ect lasts through five washes! Separate your mane into sections while it’s dry and apply from root to tip. Although the instructions say to leave it on for 10 minutes, I recommend leaving it on for up to 15 minutes for best results, since Singapore’s weather is humid. After rinsing, proceed with your usual shampoo and conditioner.”
