My Reading Room
1. WORKS ON REDUCING DAMAGE FROM INFRARED RAYS

Ultrasun Eye Physical UV Protection SPF30/PA+++, $39.90.

This sunscreen from new-to-town Swiss brand Ultrasun reportedly protects against infrared radiation from the sun, microwaves and fluorescent lights, which can penetrate the deeper layers of the skin and cause damage. The silky, cream-like texture is a win too.

2. KEEPS YOU SMELLING GREAT

Sunplay Skin Aqua Sarafit UV Floral Mist, $9.90.

Rub this floralscented sunscreen in after misting it on. It feels weightless, thanks to a silky powder technology, and leaves the skin soft, silky and pleasantly scented.

3. HAS BRIGHTENING BENEFITS

Nivea Protect & White Lotion SPF 50/PA++, $24.35.

With both physical and chemical UV  filters, this provides utmost protection from UV rays. It also has liquorice extract to work on reducing the production of melanin, responsible for skin woes such as dullness and an uneven tone, so expect an improvement in the look of pigmentation, unsightly spots, and even dark elbows and knees.

4. DOESN’T FEEL OR LOOK GREASY

Bioderma Photoderm Max Aqua uid SPF 50+/PA++++, $44.90.

Courtesy of a dry-touch technology, this sinks into skin within a minute and doesn’t leave an oily sheen. The weightless, nongreasy and silky feel means it can double as a makeup base too.
