1 At the office
KENZOKI BARE BODY POWDEROIL, $65.

Spend your day in a drying air-conditioned environment? Consider using this moisturising salve. The lightweight oil leaves a slight veil of powder on the skin that helps keep it hydrated throughout the day, while ingredients such as rice plant essence, cotton oil and extracts of peony and hibiscus soften skin.

2 When travelling
CHANEL NO. 5 THE BODY OIL, $150.

This manages to look luxe and be insanely practical. The spray-on formula minimises mess – great if you’re on the go. Each pump dispenses just the right amount of the lightweight No 5-scented body oil, which absorbs instantly and leaves skin silky-smooth.

3 For a postbath treat
DIOR J'ADORE HUILE DIVINE, $144.

Like enrobing your skin in liquid gold – that's how luxurious this body oil feels. Inspired by Dior’s iconic J’adore fragrance, this rosescented oil acts as a bath oil, but can also be applied to skin. Use long strokes to really massage the luscious formula in – we like the warm sensation it gives. Don't OD on it though; a little goes a long way. We used it before bed and the fragrance lasted till the next morning.

Beauty writer Carina Koh susses out a pressure-free lymphatic drainage facial.

Tarabliss’ Methode Jeanne Piaubert Slimface Lymphatic Drainage Face Treatment ($288 for 90min) comes across totally unexpected. Its patented massage technique is so soft, it’s virtually pressure-free – when the therapist presses on the acupressure points, I hardly feel a thing.

According to the therapist, the massage relies on hitting very specific pressure points to drain toxins from lymph nodes while stimulating cell activity so skin looks fresher and less tired. Jeanne Piaubert was reportedly the first person to develop lymphatic drainage massages in the 1920s and her salons have always used this soft-touch method.

The results: my skin looks glowy and smooth immediately after, like I had a really good rest. There isn’t any marked difference to my facial contours, but I definitely look more awake.

Tarabliss Spa is at #05/06-00 Chan Brothers Building (tel: 6336-9274).
