The main attraction of an overnight mask? It helps repair and hydrate the skin while you catch up on beauty sleep. A great example: Kenzoki Belle de Jour Dream Night Mask ($136).

This latest offering from the French brand is formulated with extracts of white lotus, which has reported anti-ageing and skin-beautifying properties, and belle de nuit, a rare night-blooming flower. The latter is said to reduce and even repair skin damage caused by sun exposure and external aggressors, so skin looks luminous and revitalised.

Interestingly, the brand also claims that the mask will leave you feeling less tense. It does this by supposedly stimulating the production of beta endorphins – “feel-good” hormones that elevate your mood – and reducing levels of the stress-induced hormone cortisol, which can increase inflammation and accelerate the breakdown of collagen, prematurely ageing the skin.

Also worth mentioning: The mask has a feather-light, sorbet-like texture that spreads easily and melts into skin. The result is a hydrating cocoon-like veil over skin, sans a greasy finish. The comforting powdery-floral scent, which reminds us of baby powder and fresh flowers, leaves us feeling calm, relaxed and ready for bed.

Use this as the final step in your night-time beauty routine two to three times a week for a radiant and noticeably smoother complexion when you wake up the next morning.

PERFECT YOUR ROUTINE

For a glowy, super-moisturised complexion in the morning, complement the mask with the rest of the products in Kenzoki’s Belle de Jour range. All boast the brand’s patented white lotus extract, which is designed to protect the skin from daily stresses while replenishing moisture and fighting signs of ageing. Plus, the minimalist-looking jars and bottles look so chic on our dressers.
