Still remember my first purchase from The Body Shop 11 years ago. I was 15, riddled with teenage acne, and had heard that the brand’s Tea Tree Oil was a must-try for troubled skin, so I picked up a bottle. Sure enough, it calmed my pimples – and earned a permanent spot on my must-have list, which has grown over the years to include many of the brand’s other products.
And this is why I was concerned when I heard that the brand was undergoing a revamp – would my faves be discontinued? When I meet the brand’s general manager, Arnaud Jeanteur, in Bali, he puts my fears at ease by sharing what the revamp involves: the introduction of new ranges made with more premium ingredients and a luxe makeover for existing products – think amber-coloured tubs and jars with black caps. Two of the new launches I’m excited about? The Oils of Life and Spa of The World ranges. The former is an anti-ageing skincare range infused with antioxidant-rich black cumin seed, camellia seed and rosehip seed oils, while the latter is a range of at-home spa products inspired by beauty rituals performed across the world.
I’ve been using products from both ranges for two weeks and already, I’ve found new favourites to add to my must-get list.

1 Spa of The World Thai Lemongrass Massage Oil, $30.90.

My new solution for sleepy workday afternoons: I dab some of this aromatic massage oil on my pulse points, which makes me feel more alert instantly. And yes, it really does smell like lemongrass!

2 Spa of The World Polynesian Monoi Radiance Oil, $36.90

Heavenly – that’s how good this massage oil smells. The scent is the result of soaking Tahitian gardenia flowers in coconut oil. It left my legs with a radiant glow.

3 Spa of The World Moroccan Rhassoul Body Clay, $36.90.

I slathered a thin layer of this firming body mask on my thighs, then let it dry for 10 minutes before washing it off . The result? The skin on my thighs looked firmer and clearer.

4 Spa of The World Dead Sea Salt Scrub, $59.90.

I love using this in the morning because it has a fresh scent that perks me right up. Since it has coarse grains, I use it on the rougher areas of my body, like the elbows and knees.

5 Oils of Life Intensely Revitalising Essence Lotion, $39.90.

To be used as the first step after cleansing, this oil-infused, lightweight essence lotion plumps skin instantly. Twice a day, I pour five drops onto my palm, gently rub my hands together, then press the water-like lotion onto my skin.

6 Oils of Life Intensely Revitalising Cream, $55.90.

This moisturiser left my skin looking instantly brighter – thanks to the micro pearls in the formula – and suppler.

7 Oils of Life Intensely Revitalising Facial Oil, $65.90.

This is the star product of the Oils of Life range, and for good reason – in addition to the seed oils found in all Oils of Life products, it has seven other essential oils, including camomile and lavender. It absorbed within seconds and didn’t leave my skin greasy.

8 Spa of The World Japanese Camellia Cream, $59.90.

Infused with camellia oil, which is great for dry skin, this silky body cream leaves skin velvety soft.

9 Spa of The World Hawaiian Kukui Cream, $59.90.

The dry skin on my legs soaked up this rich cream within minutes. The best thing is, I’ve barely put a dent in this huge 350ml tub even after using the cream for two weeks!

10 Spa of The World African Ximenia Scrub, $55.90.

This oil-infused body scrub with a feather-light texture hydrates while sloughing off flaky skin. I love the subtle floral scent!
