Smoked-out eyes
Finally. Those of us with hooded lids or oily ones can rock sultry looks without having our eyeshadow crease by noon. Here’s how: Line your lower lash lines with kohl, smudge it out, then blend a cream eyeshadow over it. If you have dark circles, stick to skin-brightening colours such as rose gold.
Doll lashes
To tone down the theatrical look seen on the Mary Katrantzou Fall/Winter 2015 runway (right), shift the falsies to the outer corners of the lower lash lines – this will also make your eyes appear bigger. Keep the rest of your makeup clean and simple; just a light sweep of blusher and a tinted primer will do.
Crystal-embellished
Gluing crystals onto your under-eye area may seem a little OTT, but if done right – as seen on the models on the Rodarte Fall/Winter 2015 runway (above) – the look can be classy, chic and perfect for parties. The trick is to keep the crystals small and stick them on in a straight line – this makes the look less costumey. Team with pink lipstick and mascara so it’s not overwhelming. If you’re not feeling the eye jewellery trend, substitute with glitter eyeliner.
Thickly-lined
These are smoky eyes for the coy. Line the lower lids with kohl – but skip the waterline to avoid a goth-like look. Don’t worry about being perfect; you can always soften harsh lines with an angled eyeliner brush. If you think black kohl is too stark against your skin tone, go for dark blue or grey.
