If you’ve got dull, congested skin, it may have something to do with your blood flow, according to Japanese beauty brand Shiseido. When the blood circulatory system isn’t running smoothly, nutrients from the blood aren’t delivered efficiently to the cells in the body, including those in the skin. This in turn affects the skin cell renewal process and slows the repair of damaged skin cells.

This is why the brand’s latest Bio-performance Glow Revival range – to which a face cream and an eye treatment have recently been added – has ingredients that supposedly improve the skin’s blood circulation. The result: firmer, brighter skin and less visible wrinkles.

Our pick from the range: Shiseido Bio-performance Glow Revival Eye Treatment ($85), which comes with a kassa, a tool used in traditional Chinese medical treatment. Apparently, using the tool to massage the eye contours stimulates acupressure points to promote blood circulation. After using the eye cream and the kassa twice daily for a week, our eye area looked brighter as well as more lifted and “awake”.

So worth the wait
Fifteen years. That’s how long we had to wait for Kenzo Flower by Kenzo EDP to reach our shores. (Both the EDT and EDP versions of this powdery, floral fragrance were launched simultaneously in 2000, but only the EDT made it to our shores.) This year, in celebration of Flower by Kenzo’s 15th anniversary, Kenzo is introducing the EDP in Singapore for the first time. Our verdict: It is warmer, sweeter and more powdery than the EDT. The fragrance dries down to a base of incense and musk, so if you’re looking for a sensual scent to wear at night, this would be it. Also, this is one of the longest-wearing perfumes we’ve tried; it lasted all through the night and then some.
