Sacai is finally launching a bag collection after years of thrilling the fashion crowd with its cool, urban aesthetic. Citing her desire to create something “authentic” as the cause of the long gestation period, Creative Director Chitose Abe recruited accessories ace Katie Hillier, and together they reimagined popular bag features in Abe’s signature hybrid style. The resulting six models, available in several colourways and fabrications from canvas to crocodile, stand out instantly from the pack for their fun-meets-luxury mix.

Local designer Sabrina Goh of Elohim fame has teamed up with Disney on a limited-edition collection starring Minnie Mouse. “This collaboration is a dream come true because it’s the coming together of two distinct personalities united in one expression,” Goh explained. The designer used digitally hand-drawn polka dots as a recurring motif to give the nine-piece line its graphic effect.

British Fashion Award winner Anya Hindmarch is known for her fun creations—her “I’m Not A Plastic Bag” canvas carrier, Tony the Tiger tote, and the Crisp Packet clutch are some examples of her witty sense of humour. In her quest for global bag domination (and to bring more cheer to the world), Hindmarch has opened a new 5,380sqft store in Ngee Ann City. Decorated in Hindmarch’s playful yet sophisticated style, colourful bags sit alongside artworks by artists such as Ryan Callanan and Julie Cockburn, as well as furniture by Martino Gamper.
